A Hamilton born painter who works mainly in oils and sometimes watercolour. Influenced by AJC Fisher, John Weeks & Lois White. Studied European art history at the Courtauld Institute London. Inspiration drawn from Uccello and Piero Della Francesca. Has many solo and group exhibitions in New Zealand and England to his credit. Subjects mainly landscape and still life. Survey and retrosective exhibitions in Dunedin Public Library, Dowse Art Gallery, Rotorua and Wellington City Gallery. Ex director National Art Gallery, Wellington.
